Well as most of you know July was a HOT month not only was the weather hot but so was the fishing! Like I stated in my last report, with the hot weather comes hot water this switches up the fishing tactics a little bit as I focus more on good moving water and an incoming tide can be your best friend as the incoming water tends to be a bit cooler.

For the last month BIG schools of redfish have been pushing and tailing hard on the flats. All it takes is some patience and proper positioning and you could have a very successful time working the big schools. A second boat can help in these occasions. IF they know how to properly work a school. Paddle tails have been the bait of choice. I tend to match the colors to the water clarity and bottom. For example I prefer a white bait in muddy water. Along with the Redfish there have been MANY snook swimming with their backs out of the water waiting for a well presented bait. Some fish have pushing over 30″ and have seen quite a few in the 40″ plus range!

Onto the Bonefish and Permit…. What many don’t know is that this time of year can be epic! Early fall brings good tides and hungry fish multiple Permit days are not out of the question and Bonefish can be found and caught in the mix as well.
The fishing will remain consistent and will only get better and we push along the month of August. I have a pretty much open book for the month and into the fall. Book your trip today!! Here are some pictures.

I was fortunate enough to guide my good buddy John Mcturk in the Redghost Stalk out of Islamorada which he took Grand Champion Honors!
